In this work we make use of proper-time method to evaluate Schwinger effect in the presence of Lorentz-violating background fields. Specifically, we evaluate the one-loop effective Lagrangian in the presence of Lorentz-violating time-like vector background and pseudo-scalar
for the pure electric case. The imaginary part of the effective Lagrangian is computed in order to calculate the Schwinger effect. Comments on phenomenology are also performed.
