We present a class of plane-wave solutions for some Hopf theories defined on the symmetric space SU(2)/U(1) in 3 + 1 space-time dimensions, using a recently proposed ansatz by Hirayama and Yamashita. These solutions are not solitonic, but they provide us with an example of how plane-wave solutions arise in non-linear field theories.
