We present the discovery potential for heavy Z′ gauge bosons in the Z′→e + e − decay channel at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis focuses on the direct search for the massive Z′ bosons predicted by the Stueckelberg extension of the Standard Model. Using signal and background simulated events, and taking into account the basic parameters of the Compact Muon Solenoid detector, the discovery reach for the Stueckelberg Z′ is found to be in the range between 800 and 900 GeV/c2 for an integrated luminosity of 30 fb−1.
